In recent years, the Artnueve gallery has been consolidating a line of work built and solidified around an investigation
serious and thoughtful about the power of art as a place of resistance against contemporary regimes of spectacularization
of the world.
Artnueve has encouraged works focused on the subtle, the light, the invisible, the contained, the minimal …, small gestures of resistance
both to the ways of seeing and feeling imposed.
Within the framework of this awareness of art as a laboratory of aesthetic concepts and a repository of ideas and alternative modes
to inhabit the world. Fragile, weak, minimal works that propose alternatives to the shiny surfaces of the merchandise
and to the ideology of high-definition. Low-fi aesthetics that are shown as resistance to a system that is becoming more and more
strong and that makes the precarious invisible.
Robert Morris said that the simple form is capable of producing the most complex experience. The same goes for the artists of this
project, which, through the minimum, of the subtle details, present tensions and instabilities that mobilize the viewer with
the same intensity – or more – than if they were major catastrophes.
Over the past years, gallery Art Nueve has been able to consolidate a solidly constructed line of work based on serious and meditated
research on the power of art as resistance to the contemporary regimes that spectacularize the world.
Art Nueve has encouraged artwork centered on what is subtle, invisible, contained, minimal…, small gestures of resistance against
the established ways of viewing and feeling. Always in the framework of gaining conscience of art as a laboratory for aesthetic
concepts and a repository of ideas and alternative ways of inhabiting the world. Fragile, feeble, minimal works that propose alternatives
to the shiny surfaces of goods and to the ideology of high-definition. Low-fi aesthetics that are presented as resistance
against a system that increasingly gains power and invisibilizes the precarious.
As Robert Morris stated, the simple form is able to produce the most complex experience. This is what happens with the artists in
this project. Through the minimal, through subtle detail they present tensions and instabilities that move the spectator with the
same –or even more- intensity as though it were concerning large catastrophes.
