Room 3 of the @musacmuseo hosts ‘Contradistancia’, an exhibition curated by Mariano Mayer that brings together a group of 29 paintings by Prudencio Irazabal.
“Painting without concluding” is the motto of his exhibition. Not because these paintings are unfinished, interrupted, but because they structure a search, an endless task. Among the materials he has used, he incorporates layers of translucent matter and acrylic resins through which the work multiplies its possibilities of being observed. In this way, one of the artist’s central intentions is also pursued: “to look inside rather than on the surface”.
