Durante estas fiestas, consideramos que la exposición ‘ Interrupciones: tiempo suspendido’, cuyo enclave reside en el palacio Almudí, es una parada imprescindible para disfrutar del arte contemporáneo en Murcia.
En ella participan nuestros artistas Sergio Porlán, Javier Pividal y Ana Martínez, y está comisariada por el grupo grupo curatorial 1erEscalón.
En esta exposición se despliega una reflexión realizada por los/as artistas y comisarios/as sobre el paréntesis en el tiempo que vivimos actualmente a causa de la pandemia, usando como herramienta el arte a través de diferentes planteamientos personales en los que se palpa la visión del tiempo suspendido de cada uno de ellos/as, sus discursos y su forma de enfrentarse a realidad contemporánea.
El tiempo se mueve siempre hacia delante, de modo inexorable. Los minutos pasan y el calendario avanza. Pero hay momentos en que sentimos que los días se espesan, que las horas se alargan, que el pasado no acaba de marcharse o que el futuro tarda demasiado en llegar. A esa experiencia afectiva del tiempo la denominamos “temporalidad”. Una temporalidad que en estos días se está transformando. La pandemia ha suspendido el futuro y nos hemos quedado varados en la historia, en un presente extraño e incómodo que no sabemos cuándo acabará. Sentimos hoy que el tiempo se ha frenado. Y la interrupción nos ha paralizado y ha vaciado de sentido el presente.

During these holidays, we consider that the exhibition ‘Interruptions. Time suspended’, whose enclave resides in the Almudí Palace, is an essential stop to enjoy contemporary art in Murcia.
Our artists Sergio Porlán, Javier Pividal and Ana Martínez take part in it, and it is curated by the curatorial group 1erEscalón.
This exhibition displays a reflection carried out by the artists and curators on the parenthesis in the time we are currently living due to the pandemic, using art as a tool through different personal approaches in which the vision is palpable of the suspended time of each one of them, their speeches and their way of facing contemporary reality.
Time is always moving forward, inexorably. The minutes pass and the calendar advances. But there are times when we feel that the days are thickening, that the hours are lengthening, that the past does not quite leave or that the future takes too long to arrive. We call this affective experience of time «temporality.» A temporality that these days is transforming. The pandemic has suspended the future and we have been stranded in history, in a strange and uncomfortable present that we don’t know when it will end.
