El arte de la cartografía

September November
A map is an object designed to contain space through description and symbols. Moved, first by fear and then by ambition -sometimes by knowledge-, generations of men measured and conquered the territories, armed with the scale, the compass, the theodolite, the calculation, the pencil, the square and the ink. .

The origin of this discipline is easily understood: you cannot inhabit a place without form. Any world needs a center from which to expand, a certainty from which to say ahead, above, behind and below. Until we draw them, the places are scary.
