On Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. the exhibition “Intelligence in another language” by the artist Pablo Capitan del Rio , who received a scholarship from BilbaoArte in 2016, opens.
“Intelligence in another language” is a transdisciplinary project that starts from the study of Ethology (comparative study of animal and human behavior).
It is an experimental project that seeks to transfer the narrative possibilities of a scienti fi c field to artistic practice.
Attending to key concepts such as reference, trap and device, Pablo Capitán proposes rehearsing a kind of grammar of the image, that is, proposing the exercise of installation and manipulation of elements as a correlate in which the associative possibilities of objects unfold. from a logic external to them.
With this research, he tries to search for strategies of object narration from fields of knowledge such as art and ethology, which are apparently distant in their processes but which, nevertheless, share a common trait: the will to communicate a scopic passion.
