Another hermetic double
The Artnueve gallery directs its work towards the dissemination and investigation of artists whose practice is focused on the reflection on central questions in the discourses of culture and contemporary thought.
The resistance to the hegemony of the visual, the questioning about other ways of inhabiting the world and the reflections on the enigmatic and the strange that happens around us, are some of the axes that backbone the poetics of the gallery artists. Faced with the vertigo and speed of the show, the slow time and the balance of some artists whose works present alternatives to the noise and saturation regimes of the contemporary world.
On this occasion, these lines of work are insinuated from a series of works that, taking as inspiration the text of the critic and curator Jesús Alcaide “Another hermetic double”, from an extreme subtlety, address the artistic process itself, the moment in the one that the thought is directed towards the hand to construct the artistic object, an indefinite, enigmatic place, present in multiple details that are constructing a discourse about the very evolution of contemporary art in a context of visual saturation like the one we live in.
As is customary in the way our gallery works, we propose the exhibition as a place for reflection and research in which several of our artists work, for the edition of ARCO 2021, with the concept of the double, implanted in a text from the art critic and independent curator Jesús Alcaide entitled “Another hermetic double”, providing different approaches and reading horizons.
For this edition, we have work by various artists represented by the gallery, among which are the artists Pablo Capitán del Río, Álvaro Albaladejo, the emerging artist Manuel M. Romero, and the Murcian Sergio Porlán, Javier Pividal and Ana Martínez.
